A free hot meal is served every Saturday from 3:30pm-5:30pm.
Why We Serve
We never know how many guests to expect, but everyone who comes during open hours leaves with a hot meal.
“…whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me…”Matthew 25:40
This short video below explains about the Meal Outreach Program at Summerfield UMC, the impact its service is making with the local community, and how anyone interested in volunteering can help. Thanks to all who participated in the video production, and especially those to donate their time and resources each and every week to help those in need who live among us.

We provide a safe environment where people can receive a nourishing hot meal.
We offer an opportunity to establish personal connections or to reconnect with others on a regular basis.
We help our guests identify and believe people have worth and value.
We make available opportunities of personal transformation to our volunteers as well as our guests.
We provide a hot lunch each Monday, Wednesday and Friday 12pm-2pm. Regardless of the weather nourishing hot meals are available to anyone who is hungry, desires a change in what they eat or opts out of their usual cooking routine. Our meals vary based on food donations as well as the thoughts of the individual volunteer preparing each meal.
Summerfield opened its doors during the summer and winter months to those who were in need of a place to rest, to be warm during the winter and cool during the summer, and to all whom looking to connect with others. Many friendships were made among those coming in for a few hours. Our Day Center, open for several hours Monday, Wednesday and Friday, provided many persons living on the street a hot lunch as well as a safe place to rest. In addition to a hot lunch we were also able to provide needed clothing, if available, and hot showers when needed.
Check our COVID-19 Response page for updates on the Meal Program regarding the pandemic.
Affiliated churches, private organizations, and individuals who would like to be a part of an urban mission opportunity are welcome and encouraged to participate by scheduling days to either serve, provide food, set-up, clean-up, or offer respect and dignity to those most in need in these trying economic times.
The Summerfield Church Meal Program has many of volunteering opportunities to help grow our community.
