Roof Miracle

In 1904, the entire Summerfield Church was built and furnished at a cost of $51,000. A century later, snow, weather, age, and neglect had a dramatic affect on the original slate roof. The architectural beauty and structure were in decay and at risk of collapse. Summerfield he institution and community was in danger of disappearing.

It was estimated in 2009 that the roof could be replaced at a cost of $237,000. The congregation could not even raise a fraction of that money. So with prayers, volunteer labor, and $22,000 in donations, members of Summerfield were able to save their church and preserve its history and usage with a new roof.

But there remains more work to do. With the roof finally fixed and the interior dry, other efforts need to be made to guarantee the longevity of the structure. Please contact us to learn how you can help.
