Our Church-Wide Stewardship Campaign
“Very truly, I tell you, the one who believes in me will also do the works that I do and, in fact, will do greater works than these, because I am going to the Father.” (John 14:12)
How does our faith result in greater living, greater giving, and greater loving? In what ways does being Christian propel us to great works in the name of Jesus Christ? What are the possibilities for “greater works” we can strive for?
These are key questions we will consider together as we “think greater.” We do good works – but what happens when we raise the bar to GREAT works? Think Greater! explores the awesome potential Wisconsin United Methodists have to make disciples and change the world.
Think Greater! is a six-week stewardship emphasis Summerfield will be participating in along with churches throughout the Wisconsin Annual Conference this fall. We are excited to walk with our brothers and sisters in faith throughout the state as we explore together what it means to “Think Greater!”
Consider those who began the first Methodist ministry east of the river in Milwaukee 160 years ago. They had no idea the legacy they were beginning. They couldn’t imagine that the second United Methodist Women in the country would be started here or that eventually Goodwill Industries of Wisconsin would get its beginnings in their basement. They had no idea that in 160 years the people of their church would be feeding the hungry and homeless every Saturday night. It all happened because they thought greater.
