WEDDINGS
Summerfield offers its ministry to couples who are making plans for
marriage. Church membership is not required, but meaningful
participation in the faith community is expected. Those
desiring this ministry will demonstrate regular attendance in Sunday
worship, and a commitment to exploring the spiritual dimensions of
Christian marriage in conversation with the pastor. Inquiries should be
directed to Pastor Don Greer.

Sunday School
Children's Sunday School meets every Sunday
during the 10:30 a.m. worship service. We offer a one room
schoolhouse rather than graded classrooms. Families join in the
first part of the worship service together, and children gather with
their teachers during the greeting time
to go to their classroom.

A Traditional Service is held every Sunday at 10:30 am.
This service of prayer, hymns, special music, Scriptural readings,
pastoral message, and thanksgiving is held in the Church sanctuary.
Communion is served the first Sunday of every month. (The
sanctuary is one floor above ground level. It is
handicap-accessible by means of a lift inside the ground level

CENTERING PRAYER
Rooted in the words of Jesus and in the spiritual practices in the
early centuries of Christianity, Centering Prayer is a prayer of
silence, a prayer of consenting to God’s presence and action
within oneself. Through this prayer, we are
prepared to turn our attention outward to discover God’s presence
everywhere. Known as "Divine Therapy", when practiced regularly,
God uses this practice to transform lives.
Summerfield has a
weekly Centering Prayer group that meets on
Thursdays,
6:00-7:30 p.m. New members are welcome. For more information
about Centering Prayer, see the Contemplative Outreach web site:
www.centeringprayer.com.
